The Jiaolong Series Miao Dao is designed as a modern foam training interpretation of the traditional Chinese Miao Dao, a distinctive long saber associated with Chinese martial arts traditions.

Its martial heritage is closely connected to the Chinese coastal martial arts traditions of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Many of its characteristic techniques are associated with Dan Dao Fa Xuan (《单刀法选》), a historical Chinese martial arts manual documenting saber methods.

Historical sources describe longer forms of the weapon, with an overall length of approximately 160 cm, while modern versions commonly measure around 140 cm. This training model follows the modern length convention while preserving the distinctive proportions and handling characteristics of the traditional weapon.

Combining the Jiaolong Series' patented tapered inner core with a slim blade profile and carefully considered balance, this foam training Miao Dao brings traditional Chinese saber practice into a modern HEMA and martial arts training environment.
